Typhoid fever is a major problem in most of the developing countries. in Indonesia, typhoid fever has an incidence rate of 360 - 900 cases per 100.000 population with case fatality rate between 0,6-2%. recently, the treatment of typhoid fever become more difficult after the emerge of multi-drug resistant strains. for this reason, prevention of typhoid fever become more important. vaccination is one of the effective means to prevent typhoid fever aside from taking measure in food handling, drinking water safety and sanitation of the sewage system.
