Dementia is one of the health problems in the elderly people with various etiologies. physiological ageing brain or a brain disease can cause dementia. management of dementia should be better started at the early stage to improve the quality of life, therefore, early detection must be done. intellectual decline, cognitive and emotional impairment are the main clinical symptoms of the disease. in order to improve the quality of life in demented patients, we have to detect the disease earlier, so that the treatment can be given sooner. the easiest examinations for early detection are mini mental state examination (MMSE), clinical dementia rating (CDR) and global deterioration scale (GDS).
