Isi artikelWomen's pleasures are being constructed by phallocentric cultural system as Freud defines passivity as feminine pleasure. This article discusses women's sexuality in a novel entitled Laila tak Mampir di New York. Laila Gagarina is a figure representing women's sexuality who tells about her own sexuality and finds ways, about her pleasure. Like Helene Cixous with her "feminine writing", this article tries to present women into the text, based on their own findings of sexuality. Their findings disclose awareness on how patriarchy repressed women's sexuality. In patriarchy, men have all to define their sexuality and have all to write. Laila's sexual desire and pleasure as a text in this article is being analyzed with Paul Ricoeur's hermeneutic used within a feministic framework. It describes how women can explain theirs, from their own perspective, not from men's views. All are written to show women's desire and pleasure, for men to understand.
