Isi artikel
STUNED program (STUderen in Nederland) is a scholarship program for indonesian people to study abroad in the netherlands. This study aims to provide information about the academic adjustment of STUNED students as well as to relate the degree of adjustment to students' self - efficacy and self concept. The study also examines whether significant differences occur interms of gender and age. The variables in this study are based on earlier research in academic settings, which point to the importance of academic self efficacy and academic self concept for academic adjustment. The study was conducted with a questionnaire among the 119 STUNED students who were enrolled in the universities in the netherlands during the academic year 2004 / 2005. From these 100 students sent back the questionnaire, a response of 84%. From these 100 students 49 were males and 51 were females. The results show significant and rather high correlations between academic self efficacy, academic self concept and academic adjustment. The academic results do not correlate with academic self efficacy. Correlations with academic self concept and academic adjustment were low. Furthermore, there are no significant differences related to age and gender with respect to academic self - concept, academic self efficacy, academic adjustment and academic results. Further research about STUNED students should be more conducted in order to improve the STUNED program.
