Assertive training is a training technique which propose to teach and habitate a person to behave assertively in their daily relationship with other people around them. This study was conducted to examine the effect of assertivity training on junior high school student assertive behaviour. Samples (N = 6) were taken from the first grade student of SMPKr. Petra 5 surabaya. Sample selection were based on low an dmedium category of assertive behaviour score. This quasi - experiment used two group pretest - posttest design. The two independent sample (Mann - Whitney - U - Test) reveal a significant difference between the group which followed training and which did not follow the training. Statistical analysis results from Wilcoxon two correlated samples show that there is a significant increase of assertivity behaviour score on the experimental group after training. We conclude that assertivity training have influence to the improvement of the junior high school student assertive behaviour.
