Conflicts occur more frequently in Indonesia and even in more violent ways in the last three or four years. Indonesia is confronted with major conlicts. Many of these conflicts lead to an assumption that Indonesia is facing a serious threat of disintregation. There are cases where states in transition failed to sustain du jure status over the full territory to which they claim soveraignty. This confirms the observation that democratization creats a syndrom of weak central authority.
