The problem Indonesia now fwce is common to developing societies with a weak national identity or sense of nationhood. as n important factor of nation building, common history is not weel shared in Indonesia. State bilding and nation building remain the greatest challenges. The time is ripe for Indonesias to develop a new, value-based approach to nationhood and politics in which citizens and politicans can articulate issues in the public arena without being sectarian.
