The first computer i remember seeing in a classroom was a teletype machine in the back of high school math classroom that was used after class hours by the district's computer club. it allowed time-shared access to a mainframe computer at Mcdonald Dougals outside of St. Louis. i was invited to a program a game of tic-tac-toe. i left shaking my head, wondering what in the world this math teacher was thinking, or how such technology could ever be used to solve the issues we faced with student everyday in our classrooms. thank goodness for the few teachers with vision who were willing to experiment. this event was in the early 1970s.
