Isi artikel
This research aims to identify some externalities on TransJakarta (TJ) as a public transportation vehicle. During its 2 years of operation, the existence of TJ has produced good impacts as well as bad ones onto the surroundings stakeholders (especially those involved in corridor-one). They include private transportation users (car), sidewalk users (pedestrian), drivers of motorcycle used for public transportation (ojek), operators of the former public transportation (bus) serving Blok M – Kota, such as Bianglala dan Steady Safe, and garden service/official. This research finds that the externalities which emerge from the TJ has effected the stakeholders from many aspects such as human resources, capital resources (bus), natural resources, environment, income, transport management, time and gas consumption, aesthetics as well as psychological and safety aspects of those engaged. From the human resources and capital aspects, the traditional public transportation drivers suffer most due to the reduction of the remaining bus operation. Moreover, the busses were under-utilized. As a result, their income greatly decreased. Interestingly, the destiny of ojek drivers show different situation. Their incomes tend to be increasing yet relatively vary depending on their operational location. From the managerial side, only few personnel of former operators (Bianglala) were absorbed by the TJ.
