This article delineates the changing global political environment in the post Cold War era and the (re) emergence of Islam as significant political force in world affairs. These two linked developments have produced misperceptions between the Western world and the Muslim world. It has also even provided new arena for a (potential) conflict between the two worlds. Therefore, it is more than a necessary for the world to have a constructive political dialogue between the two poles in order to creating a virtual new order instead of producing new political and even military enmity between the West and the Muslim world.
