Isi artikel
This research aimed to design and implement (experiment) a model for learning quadratic equations for the students at the tenth grade of Senior High School (SMA) by applying the ‘graded mathematization ‘approach. This was an action research whose subjects were the tenth grade students of Sang limur Senior High School, Yogyakarta. The research results implied that thefirst Learning Scenario Designs (Rancangan Skenario Pembelajaran - RSP) needed to be evaluated and improved, particularly re¬garding learning management in class before the designs were finalized. The teacher should give shorter instructions, have better self-control and be more patient in managing a cooperative class, offer students assistance timely in line with the phases of student activities, and realize that the time allocation in the Learning Scenario Designs had been strictly arranged The students seemed to be prepared to modify their learning activities, to be able to come up with several problem solving strategies, and to be confident to demonstrate and discuss their work results. The speed and readiness of the students in each phase of activity was different.
