World wide the proportion of people age 60 and over is growing faster than any other group. Most older people libe in developing countries as Asia with the largest numbers in eastern Asia (include Indonesia) and China. That's why we need to know how far do the family support their own elderly, what factors do influence it. If the family role become lessen, that the government have to take over the role in giving basic needs fulfillment of the elderly, The elderly basic needs fulfillment are consist of clothing, the quantity and quality of food, housing, health and education, Based on the fulfillment of the criteria mentioned above, there are three groups of the elderly : neglected elderly, sensitive neglected elderly and non neglected elderly. The meaning of the non neglected elderly is the elderly who maximum fulfill 1 poverty criteria, sensitive neglected elderly is the elderly who fulfill 2 poverty criteria, where as neglected elderly us the elderly who fulfill minimum 3 poverty criteria. The elderly basic needs fulfillment are also related to family support. The aim of this research include is to get the information how is the role of elderly family int he elderly basic needs fulfillment. This research involve 1001 elderly people age 60 and over, spreading in 40 district administration in 5 municipally in Jakarta. This 40 district administration are held using BPS....
