The nutritional status of elderly people is an important factor due to the expansion of the elderly population due to the increasing of life expectancy rate in Indonesia. A survey has been conducted in jakarta on 1001 elderly, consist of 411 male and 590 female. The prevalence of overweight is 17.8% for mena dn 23.9% for women. the prevalence of obese men and woman (BMI > 30) is 0,7% and 8.3% respectively. The socio demographic factors that have significant different with the nutritional status of elderly are : age, sex and formal education. The supportive factors that have significant different with the nutritional status are : smoking habit, doing exercise, and employment. Nutritional knowledge that have significant different are : fat diet, eating until satisfy. The nutritional practice that have significant different with the nutritional status of the elderly are : chewing food, food that must be not eaten, and diet cause of certain disease.
