Isi artikelReading is a cognitive process. The goal of reading is to achieve understanging the text being road. In trying to accomplish this task, a mature reader is aware of the nature reading and has a degree of control over his metacognitive activities. He is also aware that he has well-developed metacognitive skills. He is also able to manipualte these skills to achieve understanding from the text. The task of a reading teacher is therefore to help the students develop their metacognitive so that they become a mature reader.
