The increasing need of energy and the depletion of the oil supply has prompted the use of coal as one of the promising alternatives for fuel, especially because of its abundant deposits in Indonesia. However, the utilization of coal as a fuel creates an environmental problem. To minimize such a problem, a technology has been developed to enable the conversion of coal into clean and efficient energy. One of the efforts to meet those requirements is coal characterization and boiler design.
