The article emphasizes the imoportance of post electrocal democracy in Indonesia. The present representative democracy that excludes people has become an oligarchic and elitist system. On the other hand, representative democracy can become populist democracy if it is incorporates parliament's accountability and people's participation. Three factors are recommended to achieve populist democracy, first : 1) the conceptualizations and indicators of democracy should cover post electoral political activities, second the constitution and political laws should be amended to include members of parliaments' accountability to their constituencies, and third states and civil society organizations should be proactive to design and implement measures for the "Operation and Maintenance of democracy after the general election.
