Hyperbaric oxygen therapy initiated as an adjunctive treatment of the disease in Indonesia, it had been used to cured caisson disease and tetanus. Actually, oxygen therapy almost used as a treatment of choice of diving disease, so the only institution probably had a great concern with it predominantly is Naval Hospital. But today, some of general hospital or health institution in Indonesia e.g. Jakarta, Surabaya, Ujung Pandang, Ambon had also built a HBO chamber as a supplement of medical equipment, used to cure some of other disease, e.g. diabetic gangrene, and CO intoxication and others. Many patients in Indonesia still unwre of the advantage of HBO therapy, probably because it was an unfamiliar one or ignorance. Its mechanism could raises significantly pO2 in plasma, which effectively normalizing ischemic tissue. But its implementation requires a team work that could manage HBO equipment cautiosly with a strict dosage and schedule in safety work. There are some indications, contra indications of diseases or disorders, and its categorization was made by the Comite on Hyperbaric Oxygenation of Undersea and Medical Society. In order to enhance good fitness, HBO therapy nowday could attract interest of the olders.
