The effect of refined oil in combustion chamber on the wear of machine element surrounding the chamber was studying using 4 stroke engine. Experiment was done in the real condition in Subang West Java as an “ojeg”., The engine was prepared using ASTM D4857-88 standard and the rest of experiment was done by using it as an” ojeg”. It was found that after 4500 km the amount of deposits and varnish in the combustion chamber still in the acceptable range, but after 7500 km, it was found excessive wet deposit and varnish. The wear rate of machine element surrounding the chamber was not significantly worn except for the piston ring.
