Corrosion resistance of rigid bonded magnet. Corrosion analysis of rigid bonded magnet (RBM) MQP-0 that coated by epoxy and MQP-L that have been coated from the manufacturer was carried out in water, NaOH 0.01 M, HCl 0.01 M, and NaCl 2%. The corrosion rate of MQP-0 in water, NaOh 0.01 M, Hcl 0.01 M, and NaCl 2% are 1.5947 mpy, 0.5057 mpy, 230.36 mpy, and 162.15 mpy, respectively by polarization resistance technique. Meanwhile the corrosion rate of MQP-L in water, NaOH 0.01 M, HCl 0.01 M, and NaCl 2% are 1.6898 mpy, 0.9372 mpy, 0.0913 mpy and 6.27 mpy. potentiodynamic technique showed that passication of MQP-0 and MQP-L happened in NaOH and NaCl. Microscope optic showed that MQP-0 and MQP-L corroded. In general it can be concluded that coating of MQP-L is better than epoxy at MQP-0.
