Flood plain generally can be found near the river and people for settlement usually inhabit it. Problems that may occur are land slide, stagnant water and flooding. remote sensing technology can identify the morphology of flood plain areas. The purpose of the study was to determine the extent of remote data in identifying the morphology of flood plain area. the method of study was to compare the result of panchromatic black and white aerial photography of 1 : 10.000 abd 1 : 50.000 scales. the result of the study was remote sensing using the lower scale had less viewer informarmation compared to the larger scale.
