Domestically, there is a need for maintance services of aircraft in insufficient condition. Indonesia companies dealing with aircraft maintenance service is still inadequate. Approximately 30% of aircraft in operation are below standard condition requiring insentive maintenance. There are 25 domestic maintenance service companies where eight are owned by airlines. Another factor having a great impact is the lack of human resources. Availability of adequate facilities for over haul job is also another important issue, There are also exciting administrative problems of importing aircraft spare parts. Thus a high percentage of domestic airline companies maintenance their fleet overseas.
