Although we have explained that Pancasila is an ideology, indeed in the last period of president Soeharto's regime, he could not anticipate the severity of the monetary crisis, which spread to economic and political crises. he also could not adjust policies to accomodate the democratic aspirations of the public. In the future, there should be clear consensus on the implications of the Pancasila ideology towards the political life of the Indonesian society.
