Isi artikelFood is one of several basic needs for human life. However people with small income in many areas of Indonesia still have serious food problems. The main problem with food in this country is its safety and availability. This is due to mis-perception of food safety and availability, so that the government often issues inappropriate food policy for its implementation. Besides, this problem is also burden by mental attitudes of bureaucrats who tend to corrupt food distribution. Consequently agriculture has not contributed to food shortage alleviation. Since the multi dimensional critis in Indonesia the past two years, many families have no access to sufficient food sources. Thus, the government should focus on the maintenance through the implementation of appropriate policy, empowerment of farmers and motivation of relaed elements in society to help solve the national food problem.
