Coffee is an non-oil export commodity, which significantly contributed to the Indonesian economy. To obtain maximum yield of coffee, besides production of superior quality coffee, production techniques should be taken into consideration. The latter includes temperate climate, location, of plantation, rainfall and adequate sunlight. Furthermore, land cultivation requires oxygen cycling and soil drainage. Coffee plants must be carefully handled, timing of planting and plant spacing. Fertilization is important for coffee planting because without it coffee plants will not grow optimally. Pruning of coffee plant is important too. Pruning will trigger a fast coffee harvest. Irrigation and drainage must be managed well in order for the coffee plant to grow well.
