Isi artikel
Information which is mas transmitted from a source to a receiver usually flows through a transmission medium. The is divided into two types namely natural and manmade medium. The first medium is air used by radio signals and the later is transmission lines using isolated cables. Signal transmission through a medium depend on the distance between the source and the receiver. This means that a signal reduced due to length of distance. Therefore an amplifier is needed to increase the magnitude of the signal. When the distance of communication is close enough, alternating air maybe used for medium transmission. The setting up of medium uses cable basically directs the signal to be transmitted in the linesonly. The cables are placed on the soil or sub-soil field. The types of on-soil cables are open-wire, isolated, coaxial and optic fiber. The sub-soil cables having high technical characteristics, are categorized in the soil, se and duct cables. The radio signal will have a polar signal due to air medium. Antenna is used to guide signal to the receiver. It has gain (G) signal factor. An illustration of G signal factoris the source of light from a lantern. When we observe the lighting in a room, the the light intensity is lower, while the light source near a lantern is higher.
