Isi artikelDuring an angle of attack variation, the location of the center of gravity of the model, the preload weight and the center of gravity of the alpha segment of the external balance changes with respect to the balance center. This leads to a variation of the measured pitching moment, which is not caused by aerodynamic forces. This correction has to be determined before the actual test run with wind on. This so-called weight correction run is measured in the wind-off situation. For the aircraft model testing on wind tunnel with the external balance, there is only a weight correction on the pitching moment.
