The purpose of this study was to determine the index of article. The data collected from document, through was checking, writing and ordering word based on its repeated frequency from the article namely the distribution of longitudinal flare in the Sun from November 1990 until October 1993 observed from Watukosek SPD which was written by Clara Y. Yatini in Warta LAPAN 1991. Analysis methodology used is followed formula : F1 = [-1+ akar (1 + 81) / 2, in which F1 menas transision dot and 1, meansamaount of word repeated once on that article. The result of this study show that there were three words that can be used as an index from such article, namely flare, sun and hemister.
