The study was done in Gunung Kidul Regency, Yogyakarta province. The main objectives of the study were to find out geographical potential related to karsts area and caves. problems in this area are related to water resources, economy, and geotourism. The method used in the study was survey, interview and data collection. Data analysis was descriptive. The results of the study showed that the karsts area and caves had potential for tourism development, water studies, karts and caves study, agriculture, economy and social aspects in Gunung Kidul regency.
