Isi artikelWestern model of cultural development has been considered the sole icon by most countries, including those of the third world. The fact is that most people in the third world adhere Islam. Regrettably, they cannot secede from the model. The most noticeable instance for it is the model of science and technology development. This has strained them to receive it. For Islamic education scholars, however, the model shouldn't be taken for granted. It is necessary for the Islamic countries to pass it through a filter in order that it can be adapted to Islamic values and teaching. Therefore, the wise solution for it is to create and design the model of science and technology development strongly inspired with the Islamic values and teaching. All these must start from the very basic foundation i.e. Muslim's consciousness to revive, predominantly in scientific and technological matter. The strategic means to awaken the consciousness is qualified education.
