Isi artikelThis research presents about designing multi criteria machine cell system. This approach is used to design and identify the performance when system variables is controlled externally. Mean flow time, mean waiting time, and mean work in process are taken as performance criteria. Designing group technology (GT) system, components have similar design and / or similar characteristic of process are grouped in cell. The clustering approach is used in objects grouping become homogeneous group based on their characteristics. The implementation of GT is components grouping to their part family and machine cells. The clustering algorithm is used in this research is rank order clustering (ROC) 2. From grouping result, it can be computed the grouping cell efficiency and machine utility. To know whether the clustering design can be implemented, ARENA simulation model is used. Then, the analysis included three performance criteria above are done. The result of this research is machine cells design have been tested experimentally through simulation model. Using simulation model, multi performance measurement can be done. That is useful to improve manufacture system quality and to balance some different aspect of management performance.
