A research on the ecophysiology of secondary metabolism in drug plants is important to improve the cultivation of drug plants. Secondary metabolism in drug plants is influenced by ecological factors, such as the area where they are growing, the climate, the canopy, the water and sun-ray availability, etc. Appropriate ecological factors activate biochemical reactions in the plants and thus increase growth activities. Various parts of the plants, such as roots, barks, leaves, flowers, fruits and seeds, grow actively, increasing biomass products and abundant drug materials.
