A left module M over a ring R with unity is called semisimple if it is a direct sum of simple submodules, or equivalently, if every submodule of M is a direct summand of M. The theory of these modules is basic to the study of noncommutative rings. A left module M over ring R is called very semisimple if every principal submodule Rm is simple where m _ 0 E M. Every very semisimple module is semisimple, but the converse is riot necessarily true. In this paper we characterize the conditions for the converse to hold.
