Isi artikelBased on signal segmentation, two methods of Finite Impulse Response (FIR) filtering can be implemented using Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT) i.e. overlap-add and overlap-save. The FIR filtering using overlap-save method based on DCT has been proven (Sumamo, 1999). In this paper we prove the overlap-add method for FIR filtering based on DCT. The simulation of digital FIR filtering with an overlap-add method based on DCT shows that this kind of FIR filtering has similar performace compared to that of the overlap-save, including ripple and signal attenuation in the pass band.
