In teaching computer hardware, students could be expected to understand better if they could see by themselves how a peripheral works. In this paper, we describe the disc drive demonstration board which can be used as a medium in computer teaching. This demonstration apparatus controls a disc drive manually. The controlled variables include "select drive", “motor enable’, “direction of head moving’, “head displacement", and “speed of head moving", It also monitors “track O", “write protect", and “position of head”.
