There exist interesting structural similarities between the Green function of linear, ordinary differential equations with constant coefficients, and the fundamental solution of distributional differential equations. With these similarities in the background, we prove a necessary and sufficient condition required for some function G(t) to be the Green function of certain different ial equations. Moreover, a close relationship between the solutions of those differential equations can be verified.
