Eucalypus globulus Labillardiere leaf oil has been isolated in 0.18% w/w fresh wet basis yield by hydrodistillation for six hours using a Clevenger-type apparatus. The oil is light yellow, and its aroma similar to its leaves. Gas chromatography and gas chromatography- mass spectrometry analysis of the oil has identified twenty five components: four monoterpenes, a sesquiterpene, fourteen oxygeneted monoterpenes, and six oxygeneted sesquiterpenes. The major components of the oil were 1,8-cineole (11.49%), terpinyl acetate (6.84%), caryophyllene oxide (5.73%), ?-pinene (4.48%), and spathulenol (4.15%).
