Isi artikelThe Pauli exclusion principle says that two or more electrons can not be in the same quantum state/number. This principle can be used to explain the multielectron atomic spectrum. But in particle physics, one can find composite particle which is composed of two or three fundamental particles (quarks) with the same flavor and spin in the sama quantum state/number. Hence, the Pauli exclusion principle is violated. By using the symmetric properties of eigenfunction, however, the Pauli exclusion principle can be extended to cope with this situation. The extended Pauli exclusion principle can be stated as follows: The total eigenfunction of composite particle, composed of two or three fermions, should be antisymmetric with respect to the exchange of particles.
