Isi artikelThis research develops fuzzy logic software for speed control of loaded DC motor using IBM compatible computer. An ADC-DAC card with 0 to 9 volts range was provided to the ISA slot of the computer. The first step was to get the output characteristics of the DC motor with 600, 1200, and 600 rpm input. The second step was to control the DC motor using PID controller based on the output characteristics with 600, 1200, and 600 rpm setpoint. The membership functions and rules of the fuzzy logic controller (FLC) were then established by trial and error, followed by computer programming. The performance of the FLC was then compared with the performance of the PID contriller. There were two inputs of the FLC, i.e. error and error rate, and one output rate. The actual output to control the speed of DC motor was the voltage signal from the integration of the output rate. The experiment resulth showa that the FLC using computer can work well and has better performance than the PID controller.
