In the used cast iron melted process it was tended to form white iron in which the carbon was tied as a hard carbide. To find the good hardness of train break block mechanical features, it was veiy depend on the composition of good material mixture. The effect of control factors to the mean of hardness was analysed by analysis of variance to the raw material and to analyse the effect of control factors to the variability, the analysis of variance to the raw material that has been transformed into SIN ratio was used .The experiments were done by using control factors identified at factor identification phase : scrap material at three levels, the composition of iron and coke at three levels, and inoculant Ferro Silicon at three levels. From the analyses, there were some results: scrap material with optimal level of 75% used cast iron + 25% returned cast iron, the composition of iron and coke with 6 : I optimal level , inoculant Ferro Silicon with 0,3% optimal level, the interaction between scrap material with optimal level of 75% used cast iron + 25% returned cast iron and the composition of iron and coke with 6: 1 optimal level, and the interaction between scrap material with optimal level of 75% used cast iron + 25% returned cast iron and inoculant ferro Silicon with 0,3% optimal level. While the factor that has the greatest percentage contribution for the mean of hardness and the variability of hardness was scrap raw material factor.
