Banking is the most dominant institution to be used in the activity of money laundering, because of the fully automated on - line banking system wherein a transaction may happen just by using a cellular phone. Other financial institutions that become a definite target of money laundering are mutual fund, money market, insurance and leasing company, money order agency. Money laundering may perform as placement of fund viz. certificate obligation or promissory note (effect, share, money market, mutual fund), saving account, time deposit, current account, investment on insurance policy, leasing. In regard of the complexity of money laundering acticity and according to article 18 of act no. 15 / 2002, there has been established a special unit to handle special task on money laundering case, it is named indonesian financial transaction reports and analysis centre / INTRAC. Its tasks are to gather, file, collect, analyse, evaluate information, disseminate, make a guideline about reporting procedures of suspected financial transaction, adbise and aid to institution in relation to the gathered information as mandated by law. INTRAC shall make a recommendation to government about the combat of money laundering and report to police agent and prosecutors about any suspect of financial transaction having indication of money laundering as well as report to the president, parliament and ascertain control unit for financial service agency.
