Isi artikelThe practice of evaluation is fast becoming an indispensable activity within the context of ESL/EFL programmes. This paper makes a distinction between extrinsically motivated evaluation, which addresses the concerns of the bureaucracy, and intrinsically motivated evaluation, which addresses specific concerns of teachers and learners to improve aspects of the programme. The paper then proposes an approach to evaluation that might satisfy both parties, and takes a current project in Indonesia as exemplification.
