Isi artikelThis article introduces humanistic ways of bringing students into the world of letter writing. It falls into three parts. The first part deals with correspondence in which students are either writing to you, the teacher, or their parents. The second part offers three useful techniques for getting students to write to each other in class, a situation in which you can easily and efficiently help them with language difficulties. The last part of the article suggests ways of providing the students with various kinds of masks from behind which to write. Some students find that writing-in-role allows them to say things they did not believe they had it in them to say.
