Isi artikelWhat problems does heart disease of the husband-father create for the farm family, and how does the family cope with these problems? This research sought answers to such questions through a field theory perspective by collecting data from both husbands and wives. Problems were found to include defining the seriousness of the illness; cautioning the husband to care for himself; getting the work done; loss of income; and changes in daily routines, values, and personality. Resources for coping with these problems were family members as workers and as emotional supports, family goals and values, financial reserves, communication, and stage of family life cycle.
