Isi artikelA descriptive study was made of unmarried graduate women's goals, attitudes about their lives in relation to graduate study, and personal temperaments as measured by a self-rating and by the Edwards Personal Preference Schedule (EPPS). Comparison of two age groups on 15 personality variables found that only the higher Exhibition variable score of the younger group was significantly different. Further analyses of the women's responses were done by combining the two age groups and comparing them with the female college normative group of the EPPS. Significant differences existed on the Deference, Abasement, Change, and Aggression variables. Thirty of the 35 women showed significant differences between test scores and self-ratings. Thirty-three of the 35 women said they desired marriage, and all but four of these stated that they were interested in professional development through part-time or full-time work at some stage of their married lives.
