Isi artikelIn this paper, conversational data collected from interaction in experimental situations between adults and children aged 5, 7, 10, and 14 is analyzed in order to reconstruct adult elicitation patterns that enable children to interactively acquire discourse abilities. The empirical findings show that adult listeners systematically adjust their substituting, supproting, and demanding activities to the child narrator's age, thus providing a structural frame fro the acquisition of developmentally relevant discourse skills.
