In the past, kasongan potteries produced only simple products. Their products are mainly for the needs of rural community households such as water jars and cooking pots old mostly in the local market. Nowadays, however, they have developed to produce various types of products which are exported to foreign markets. This success cannot be done without the role of intermediaries. Some of the role are identified in this article namely, in product design and innovation, quality control and improvement, cost reduction, promotion, and marketing.
