A computer - aided process planning (CAPP) is developed to solve the problem of process planning of turned part in manufacturing process laboratory, dept. of manufacturing engineering, university of surabaya. The system is developed based on variant approach. To provide a complete process planning, the system is integrated with external cutting ata such as cutting tools material and their suggested parameters. Production time and cost estimation subsystems are also developed to enable the system in producing the required information
