Isi artikelThere have been some researches studying foreign exchange exposure,however, only a small number examining what internal factors influence the foreign exchange exposure in banking industries. This research attempts to find out whether there exist foreign exchange exposure in go-public banking industries from January 1999 to June 2003. Secondly, it also tries to find out whether the internal factors such as, CAR, LDR, ROE, NPL and SIZE, simultaneously, influence the economic exposure. Thirdly, it examines whether these factors, partially, influence the foreign exchange exposure. This research was done in go-public banking industries at the Jakarta Stock Exchange. The sampling technique adopted is based on purpose sampling consisting 12 banking companies listed in the Jakarta Stock Exchange. It used Multiple Regression of Model I and Model II. Model I is used tofind out whether foreign exchange exposure existed. Model II is used to examine the influence of internal factors toward the foreign exchange exposure. The results show that 1) there were 26 quarter period ofgo-public banking industries effected by the foreign exchange exposure; 2) the companies's financial ratios simultaneous effected by the foreign exchange exposure; 3) partially, it was found out that only the ratios of LDR, ROE and NPL influenced significantly the foreign exchange exposure.
