The tested questionnaire was purposely used to accommodate farm wage as one of possible new indicators in monitoring poverty. By using this variable, the monitoring is expected to be reported every month and in timely manner. Moreover, the results of this field test could be used as an early information for further study. Wages in agricultural sector was chosen due to most people in Indonesia, specifically the poorest and inhabitants of rural area, still depend their lives to agricultural activities. The field test in Banten indicated that in March 2002 the average farm wage per hour was Rp 3.231, woman farm workers received lower wages, the ratio of wage in-kind and in-money was closed to one, and among cultivations existed wage differences.
