In recent years, the Malaysian Government has begun to push the country towards attaining "developed country" status by the year 2020. In 1991, the Malaysia Prime Minister unveiled his "Vision 2020", proposing nine challenges that the nation as a whole needs to face. This paper examines the implications of the Vision for the Malaysian media.
